At Hip Mommies, your family’s health & safety is our top priority.

We are vigilant reviewers of third-party safety testing reports and we make sure our products are safe for little ones.  All products that we bring into Canada comply with existing safety regulations and standards.

Everything we sell we use (and love) with our family first.

Hip Mommies is a family run business, and we are parents of little ones. We are looking for safe baby products too. We understand how difficult it can be to navigate through all of the choices out there, and we know that you are trying to make well-informed decisions when it comes to the health and safety of your little ones. The baby product industry has a lot of issues with illegally imported goods, green-washing and there are definitely reasons why we need to look a little closer at the products that we expose our children too.

This is why Hip Mommies requires independent third party safety testing.  We make sure the products we carry are truly safe for growing bodies. If you have any questions about the safety of any of our products, send us an email and we will do all we can to help out.  We operate with full transparency and integrity.

Counterfeit baby products are everywhere. Learn what this means for your family.

The counterfeit industry in Canada is massive, and counterfeiters make tens of billions of dollars a year off of unsuspecting Canadians. Knockoff baby products are sold on all of the big e-commerce sites, in stores, at small pop-ups, on the online mom-groups and buy & sells. These products are not tested for safety, do not comply with Health Canada’s consumer product safety regulations and are illegal to sell and purchase. Often times they have been found to contain lead, flame retardants and other harmful chemicals and are manufactured very poorly.

For more on the Canadian counterfeit industry read “Warning: Some of your baby products could be fakes” from Today’s Parent Magazine.
