Natural detergents often contain essential oils, which can leave residue that's more noticeable to babies. It’s not harmful but can be annoying. Hand washing is preferred, but if using a dishwasher, space items apart. For smells, stains, or build-up, soak in hot water and vinegar. Cups can be deep cleaned with a baking soda paste (1:2 ratio), or baked at 275°F for 45 min
